Is it common to have chocolate with Scotch as to make for a polarizing taste in your mouth. I haven't opened my bottle of Glenmorangie so I was wondering if it was ok to have after you had chocolate?

Hell yea! There is a chocolatier by us that makes Bon bons full of single malt (a selection). Heaven in your mouth. Has to be quality chocolate, no cheap stuff.
Also goes well with Guinness.

Sounds great, I hope I can find something like that here in The Netherlands.

I actually experimented with chocolate and scotch the other day.

Dark chocolate is the best chocolate in my opinion and I really like scotch, so I tried them together. Turned out great!

So by quality do you mean like Toblerone? I was also thinking of mixing a little with this annisette hot chocolate mix my girlfriend got me.

Yes, that is good. But for scotch I would go for dark, not milk, chocolate.

Certainly, though I tend to prefer dark chocolate with my whisky's be they Scotch, Rye, Bourbon or Shine.

True, I think that could be because of the intensity of the cocoa taste.

I'd be hard pressed to find tings that didn't go well with chocolate. Well,I suppose liver and onions wouldn't mesh well, but you get my point! Something about whiskey actually makes me crave sweets, especially chocolate. Dark chocolate and red wine is another hit. Chocolate and coffee is the best breakfast ever. At least that is my opinion.

"Sounds like you really want to live the Old Yeller movie. I'm sure you have experience killing animals, but shooting a family member is far from humane. Take him to a vet. It's far better than the option you seem to be hinting at."
