Hi Everyone,

I thought I'd start this thread as I'm coming up on the two year anniversary of mine. I wanted to see who else has gone through this, (if they want) what happened and what sort of advice they would provide to those who are going through this. It was by far one of the most painful periods of my life and yet two years later I stand a better person in part because of it.

Post whatever you want.

Hi, I was just curious if you could add more details, such as if you had children involved in the split, or anything else you wanted to share so we can have clearer picture.

I went through it years ago, and I am a better person now. Although it was one of the hardest things I ever went through.

Sure.

So I was married for almost 2 years, long distance relationship where I moved from my home in Southern California to the Mid-Atlantic (mild culture shock to say the least).

No kids (thankfully) - we were likely going to start trying to have kids around the time we divorced.

Mine was also a very...accelerated divorce (for which I'm grateful even if it was hell). From the time she demanded a divorce until the time I moved back to the west coast it was 8 weeks. Unfortunately we were sharing the house we rented for 7 of those weeks. And it was at that time (when it's the worst situation) that you see someone with completely new eyes.

Personal and Political Advice from Rome.

His Holiness, Pope Francis, has a warning sign posted outside his office door.It begins "VIETATO LAMENTARSI"In English, "WHINERS PROHIBITED."The sign ends with “To get the best out of yourself, concentrate on your potential and not on your limitations. Stop complaining and take steps to improve your life.” The same advice, in a far, far blunter form, is found in a book."Shut Up, Stop Whining, and Get A Life: A Kick Butt Approach to a Better Life."--Larry Winget, 2004See More
