Style Inspirations

Mostly because I'm going nuts here at work today, thought I'd try to get something going.

As much as we hate to admit it, we all have our favorite manly celebrities, and people we wish to emulate (if only in terms of dressing & grooming). Pick a photo from a moment in a film where you thought the actor/musician/etc. looked particularly sharp, in a manly sense.

I'll start with Sir Ben Kingsley in Shutter Island. I love the early 1950s style of this film, and Kingsley rocks the bow tie. I'm also partial as I'm currently sporting the baldy look for summer.

For the office I go for the Mark Harmon look in NCIS, basic crewneck tee, sometimes colored, cotton/polyester dress shirt, light weight dark colored sport jacket. Shoes vary depending on how much leg work I have to put in, but almost always leather with grey athletic socks. Important for me is to be clean shaven and no scents other than something simple like Bay Rum and that just as an astringent after shaving. I have two good suits but almost nver wear them.
