$2 bills have always seemed interesting to give for tips in my opinion. I thought about ordering maybe $200 in $2 bills. I'd keep them at home other than a few in my wallet for when I'd like to use them. People do seem to be surprised and a little cheerful when I give a $2 bill instead of a few ones.

This guy only uses the $2 bill denomination, but I'd only go as far as using it for tipping, buying a cup of coffee, or paying for something that's only several dollars.

Would this be gentleman-like or appropriate to use them for tipping and very small purchases? Is this a good idea?

I think it's classy!  And it could become your signature "calling card".  Do it!

I normally put everything on credit card including the tip.  Although if two dollar bills are fun to tip with try Susan B. Anthony dollars or the presidential dollars.

This is actually a pretty good idea, I might just do it myself. Two dollar bills are always a great conversation piece.

I always carry Toms. If I buy a soda at a convenience store the clerk almost always trades two ones for the Tom I give them. About half the time they try to give me change for a $20.

The beer girls at the golf course always make a big deal out of getting them for tips.

It's an interesting idea. Though the problem is, they are not any more useful than other bills. The real benefit to using them is as a conversation starter. I have seen this work for a couple people. Trading 2 ones for a $2 bill, or using it at an opportune time is an awesome ice breaker, and does look very classy. It shows that you put some time and thought into using them. I say try it out, what do you have to lose other than a few minutes in idle conversation?
