Ok, so I know my wine, I know my martinis (perhaps a bit too much), now I have this idea, that at my desk at night, I can have a nice glass of Scotch Whiskey and read or just be creative, or waste time, but whatever the case I can do it with class. I am NEW to the Scotch Whiskey world and for basically a first timer I am asking what the community recomends - THANK you to one and all... (also what might work best with a nice cigar)
P.S. I have tried and enjoyed GLENLEVIT.. thanks for all the suggestions.. I'll soon try a second brand as well
Best to avoid the Islay Scotches when starting out.
Those are the ones I built up to.
Then either you were drinking bad stuff, or simply don't dig Scotch (and no law obliges you to do so).
I feel the same way about rum, and was advised by an afficionado that I needed to drink better rum. Best I can say is, I disliked it less than usual but didn't tip over into enjoyment.
