I've been an ardent admirer of the email updates from A of M for quite some time. The more articles I read, the more I felt like people were discussing the way my grandfather lived and the legacy he left. My father wasn't up to that challenge, so I was heroically (like so many gen x boys) raised by my mother.
Without getting to emotional, it's great to have discovered a community of like minded men, who have seen there is a way to express masculinity, nay be proud of it, without being a boorish lout or an emasculated SNAG.
The dating tips have help lead me to my lovely wife, whom I married last year.
Also I've realised, I'm not defined by my job. I've kicked drinking everyday, taken up new sports, renovated and painted the mother-in-law's house and taken up further post grad study. For which I've just been accepted into a UK top ten university.
I may well have done some of these on my own, but knowing others have done it and more whilst remaining or becoming well rounded gents (and allowing me to pick up new ideas along the way) has been a wonderful inspiration. My heartfelt thanks and appreciation.
Carry on good sirs! Carry on.
Yours respectfully,
Jay S. Maxwell.
