Good eve (or probably day figuring a lot of people here probably reside in the U.S.) gents of the AoM community.

Name's Alexander, I'm from Rhineland Palatinate in Southwestern Germany and I have been reading articles on this site for over a year now and decided to join this little savvy community as I'd reckon it would attract other likeminded people and there'd possibly some additional constructive information on all things manly.

As of now I'm working on getting my "Abitur" which  is vaguely similar to your undergrads in terms of qualification so I will quite possibly enroll in Uni next year - I'm aiming for business law (actually a little more specialized study program that would probably translate to "corporate defense lawyer/house counsel").

I hope to do a foreign semester in either the U.S. or Canada (tendency towards the U.S. as of right now) - both for the experience and because I plan to move overseas within the next 6 years. Mainly because I don't feel at home here and because I'd like to live in an English speaking place as - as odd as this may sound - prefer English over German. If anybody would happen to have any constructive advice I'd appreciate it!

Apart from this ambitious pursuit I like to spend my free time educating myself/reading, taking walks, cooking, photography and music and if opportunity arises travelling.

Looking forward to some manly and (hopefully) constructive discussions!

Welcome Alexander!

I hope you will continue to use Brett & Kate's excellent articles to your advantage, in order to fully develop yourself as a well-rounded, proper man. It's what many try to do here, myself included. The forum here indeed contains some interesting discussions.

I'm currently temporarily living in Germany as well. Great country with great people!

Take care!

Jonathan R. Baker replied to Chris Hamm's discussion Who Wears a Watch Anymore?
"Those watches look very nice, but I can't see myself paying more than $100 for a watch at this point.  I'm looking for something sturdy, but inexpensive, and relatively stylish."

Jonathan R. Baker replied to Chris Hamm's discussion Who Wears a Watch Anymore?
"Thanks for the education on the crystal types.  It looks like the watch I linked to has a plated brass case, so that's a no go.  I really liked the green dial face, though.   I guess I'll keep looking."
