Returning from deployment and i was trying to think of something nice i could do for my wife to "wow" her and show her how much i truly missed. her....any ideas..

So in a few weeks ill be hitting home port after an 8 month deployment. And i was thinking to my self, that i should do something nice for her, something to let her know that i have been thinking about her every second sense i headed out.

But alas there lies my problem, i don't want to do the "normal" things like take her to a nice dinner, or buy a fancy piece of jewelry .. any ideas for a Homecoming Sailor?

Not to sound cliche, but just being back home will probably be more than enough to make her happy.

Agreed. Depending on when you get back, how about a breakfast in bed with a nice note attached to it? Just a thought...

Take her someplace outdoors overlooking the sea.

A love note to say what you said here.

tyler- im sure being home again will make her happy, how ever it dosent do justice for how much ive missed her, being gone was just as hard for her as it was for me, if not harder,  so i feel like i should do something  extra ordinary just so that i she knows.. if that made any sense...

will- thats a great idea, takeing in to consideration,

thanks to you both

Not that this will help you now , but l would have put something to paper about what you like about her and what you miss most , put it in an envelope every day you were away , and given it to her in a nice store bought box , tell her to only read one every day , and maybe two on those days she is pissed at you for no apparent reason .

Where where you deployed?

on board USS Makin Island

You could tell her your arrival will be pushed back 2 days and then actually come home on time and surprise her by having one of her girlfriends take her out to a candlelight dinner type place then her friend could excuse herself from the table to go to the restroom or something and you could take her place. then proceed to have a romantic date in the process.

That may be the best option right there.
