Many of us enjoy tinkering with our cars, in our spare time. From doing a quick oil change to an all out restoration. I thought it would be cool to post up you past and current projects, and tell a little about them.

My Jr. year of high school I picked up a 65' VW Bus. This thing was a rolling shell at its best. My dad called me Ray Charles when he first saw it. But after six months of work she was back on the road. Currently shes in storage till I'm able to get back home and finish her off. Its got a 1600SP with 40 or so HP, on a good day.

Currently this 65' Austin Mini is in the works. The plan for here is to keep it original or at least period correct. She has a 850cc engine with 20 raw horse power, with a top speed of 55 down hill with a tailwind.

My new project for the wife:

My DH just purchased a 1965 Catalina 2+2, the same model as his first car. It has a big block 421ci engine with automatic transmission. This is going to be a great project for him and our 3 teenage sons.

Dog and the beer were not included.

Great projects guys!

I'm not super-skilled in the building department, but I do what I can.  I autocross a 350Z, and I'm prepping it for a Street Prepared build.  Last year, I installed Hotchkis swaybars.  This year, I'm upgrading the differential with a clutch-type LSD and poly bushings.  I think, though, that I need a shop to do most of that. :(  Next year, I think I can do the coilover install.

Here's some pics of my heap.  There's more of it in my basement than my garage currently, but I'm "marching it down the road" little by little:

When I bought it ('54 Ford F100 by the way).  Don't let that shine fool you - it rained that day:

Starting on the bodywork:

Getting the cab off the frame (staged photo for fun):

Coating the frame with rust encapsulator:

cool 54 ^^^, here's my 50 F1.

Nice ride!!

Some great projects in here.

Sadly, I don't have the time or money for my projects since I'm back in school.  But here are some of my projects that don't get much lovin' right now:

1963 Buick Riveria 401, numbers matching (waiting for summer for some proper pics)

1983 Mercedes 300D-t

And the new hunting/camping/expedition/firewood rig:  '95 F250 7.3 Powerstoke 5-speed

That merk sure looks better in coffee than my urine yellow one, the car is MB's top chassis at that time--their German Rolls and then they degraded them with the diesel,

( I have a 77 300D also, looks great, is taxi material killing it's value, of course it could be a 240 D (AAAAARRRRRggggg!!!))

I have everythig for a Riv including a complete chassis if you know anyone that wants it! it was rotten  but the mechanicals and bits are good

Michael

I might be interested in some Riv parts.  The electrical portion of a '63 ignition switch, for one!

Hi Pat;

Sorry not to respond promptly--too many things on the big WWW to distract me

If you need Riv parts, tell me what the parts are, I have a complete steering column that has the electrical switch, tell me more

Michael

l had a VW that sat in my drive for about ten years that l was going to do something with , but in the end l had to let it go . l will find some pics and post them for you , you may get a kick out of them .

I brought a 1955 VW Beetle from SoCal to Toronto.  I've since started going frame (pan) up with it.  Here are a couple of pix.
