Yes, I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseum, but I searched in broad terms for this topic and the results were usually "custom" or "shoes" or "suits," etc.  I'm just looking for options other than the typical men's clothing stores.

Anyone have any favorite (somewhat inexpensive) online retailers?  I'm looking for dress shirts, pants, ties, etc.

Thanks.

mens clothing stores

Nowadays I buy almost all my clothes online.  I always save a lot of money.  I'm used to getting 50% - 70% 0ff MSRP.  For the most part I know my sizes well, I know I'm middle-aged and don't work out so anyth9ing cut slim or TrimFit is automatically out.  Otherwise I know what some of you mean about fits in the waist and thighs.  I like LLBean - they still have great quality and a super guarantee - just return it anytime.  LandsEnd used to be very good until Sears bought it and quality has been downhill ever since.  JosABanks is always running great sales and I respect the quality of their better lines: Signature Gold, Joseph.  Depends on your pocketbook.  Looking to save big on a quality suit?  Go to YOOX.com.  Guaranteed at least 50% off all the brands you'd find in the fancier department stores.  Unlike Bluefly which only gives 20% - not really that great.  I like Paul Fredericks for men's shirts.  Never buy their suits - priced cheap and ARE cheap.  Also, you can find some quality suits, etc. at SierraTradingPost.com.  I expect to have clothing altered (dress stuff anyway) so I have a decent tailor.  Generally I avoid NYS sales tax which by me is 8.625%.  Yes, I pay shipping but the savings always more than make up for it aga9in and again.  No-hassle returns.

"Generally I avoid NYS sales tax which by me is 8.625%." This makes me so sad. I always pay my state use taxes.

Only if the vendor maintains a brick-and-mortar presence in the state (any state) where you live are you required to pay the sales tax.  I do not doubt that a national sales tax will come but for today that is the law.

See line 59 of NY's form IT-201, and page 33 of the corresponding instructions.

I found that Land's End has excellent products.  I bought Kahkis a few years ago and they're still looking good.

You do have to be careful about sizing though.  I just bought a pair of boots online and had to send them back as they were too small even though the size was correct according to other shoes I wear.  So it's taken me about a month to get what I paid for 2 day shippig for.

I'm partial to Orvis.com and of course they have a store in Charlotte that I like to go to.  My wife has ordered alot of my clothes from Belk.  She gets most of my khakis and such from them.  Ordered some khakis from billskhakis.com as well.  Overall, I've had good results with the fit.  Granted, they're not fitted to me, but my local favorite store, Grainger Owings does custom work for me.
