Do any of the online tailors do actual bespoke (not made-to-measure)?   What has everyone’s experience been?

No. Pretty much, if you are not getting multiple fittings from an actual person - and of course, massive measurements the first time - you're not getting bespoke. Nor would you at that price - bespoke usually starts at 3-4X the cost of most of the online shops.

With that said, at the price many are offering (Thick as Thieves, Indochino, etc.) - with their house cuts, and made to measure (and good cloth) - you are getting a LOT of suit, for your buck. Much better, imo, than going to Mens Wearhouse, or Jos A bank - and cheaper than Brooks Bro's

I live in Dubai and as far as I know, tailored suits aren't very popular in the region. What do you know of Knot Standard? These guys are an American company based in Dubai, said they'd to take my measurements. Think I can rely on them ?

I don't know anything about them. In Dubai, you do have Parmar Tailors - they have been recommended to me in the past.

I have checked out this very topic recently, but am far from reaching any conclusion. I have noticed that many of the Savile Row tailors have an online presence, and you might convince some of them to have your first measurements taken by someone near you with a good eye.

http://www.daviesandson.com/bespokesuits.asp offer both bespoke and made-to-measure. Notice that their online serice is the latter. I have considered asking them if something similar could be done for bespoke, to save an airplane roundtrip to London.

http://www.thesavilerowtailor.co.uk has a very good web presence. Don't know if he does any online service of the kind. He seems to have a keen sense of fashion, colour and comfort.

http://www.henrybailey.co.uk/individual%20bespoke%20tailoirng%20ser... has a low-cost operation by outsourcing his sewing to a workshop in China.

http://www.cadandthedandy.co.uk seem to be at the lower end of the price range, and I am not sure if they offer actual bespoke.

Same goes for http://www.kingandallen.co.uk

I can't get a fix on these guys' prices, but they seem to be in the upper price echelon again: http://www.manning-and-manning.com/price-guide.html

But that's about as far as my investigations have come.

I have now spoken with Robert Bailey of Davies and Sons. A pleasant experience, and I will go with their bespoke service. They are, it seems, visiting Oslo next year, thus saving me a trip to London.

Hello friend, i have experienced with JJS tailor. He is in Hong Kong.He has a lot of fabrics and styles of bespoke suits. You can buy bespoke suits from his website. His website is jjstailors.com

Yes friend David Fashions do actual bespoke.I know because i bought many suits online from his website that is david-fashions.com.The all suits are amazing and made with modern fabrics and styles.
