I get one week off in June (the week after Father's Day).  This is for self-improvement or personal progress.  This is the 14th year I've had this privilege.  I've attended many seminars and classes.  These were usually for professional development, not so much for personal development though some times there is overlap.   Usually there is an "adventure" component: I've gone mountian climbing, white water rafting, hiking, motorcycle trips, road bike trips, scuba..just a lot of stuff.  My issue is that I just don't have a good idea of what to do this year.  I only have one week, my budget is $1000.

What would some of you do in my position?  I live in the Northwest corner of Kentucky so I have to consider travel time in my plans.  I'm interested in just about anything.  I don't mind being in a classroom setting or "roughing it out" on an outdoor adventure.  I enjoy seminars like Jim Rohn or Covey used to do.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't have any suggestions, but I do think that this is a really cool thing that you do.

Don't have any organized activity ideas, but what about a "mini-Walden" week.  Basically just get away to somewhere simple and quiet to reflect, think, and plan.  Maybe backpacking or other camping, maybe a cabin rental.  I've never been able to do it for a week, but I've found great benefits from even an afternoon set aside in the mountains alone to contemplate life.
