Hello AOM men. I have recently started an amazing job after completing grad school and I need some help with my cubicle. It's no office, but for a job straight out of school I could not ask for more. At the moment I have a few reference books (computer programming), some snacks in a drawer, a leather pad-folio for meetings, Zebra pens and highlighters, and that's about it. What should I bring to my cubicle to make it more like home? Any suggestions?

A coffee mug that by it's design and color state your personality, no smarmy statements unless it's "Fearless Leader"
An old pocket radio functioning or not.
An interesting looking clock that is set to quitting time or five minutes to quitting time. So it shouldn't actually work.

Permalink Reply by Andrew on February 24, 2013 at 3:01am I have an LED clock called TIX that displays the time in a color coded pattern that changes every couple seconds. Great conversation starter when people try to figure it out (it's rather simple) and I like the way it looks.

Keep it simple organized and clean. Leave the political… stuff at home IE the Ron Paul Mug. No pictures of a hottie even if it’s your girl.

If I had an office, I'd get some motivational posters.

Stay away from politics and religion and make sure that what you place in your space is reasonably professional and really you. As a computer guy you can get away with Legos etc.
