I know we're usually an underground club, but what do hockey fans think of the prospect of a lockout?  Thoughts on the issues?  Could the NHL stand another lockout?  How could it affect your team?

I doubt it will happen... but if it does, I can only really see the southern teams suffering.

Definitely hurts the sport.

not in Europe... all the NHL players will go over and play in those Euro leagues... America can already give two shits about the sport and Canada will still love it no matter what.

It sucks that there is a very legitimate possibility of a lockout.  After the most recent lockout, the sport hasn't been the same.  Hockey used to be way more mainstream.  It is now starting to get more media coverage and respect but that can all go out the window if another lockout keeps the players from hitting the ice.

Most importantly, I had purchased preseason tickets to watch the Kings play in Vegas and now that is looking more and more unlikely.  boo!

I think it will happen, and it will hurt the sport again, I don't see any teams really benefiting from not playing no matter how bad they are.

It's gonna suck if October rolls around and there is no hockey.  But I'll still be a hockey fan and when the season starts I'll be watching every game I can.  Once you are a hockey fan, you are a hockey fan.  I don't know anyone who abandons a sport.  Once its on, people will tune in and watch.

I am curious as to why Cody seems to think it would only effect the southern teams though.  As that statement just seems completely random to me.

Lock out has started.  Hope they can get it resolved in the next month.

"I would disagree about manners. Manners are a subset of ethics, therefore ultimately morals and virtues will come into play."

Christian Men

Regardless of the specifics, we can all agree on one thing. Jesus Christ was the perfect Man who died and rose again for us such that we could have fellowship with Him
