Hi there, everyone, my name is Ander (the basque version of "Andrew") and since I'm a big fan and a follower of the AOM articles since a couple of years, I thought "why not join the community?". So here I am, ready to learn.

Just so that you begin to know a little about me, I'm a college student, wannabee translator. I have a little "gift", so as to speak, with languages (I speak spanish, english, basque, german and I've also studied latin, in case dead languages count for anything). I'm still learning german, but once I'm done with it, I'd like to learn either italian or/and french, and I have the dream of learning to speak irish gaelic.

My main hobby I'd say is music. I'm a musician myself, I play a variant of the melodeon (a button diathonic accordion) typical of the Basque Country called Trikitixa, as well as the Pandero (a frame drum).

I also enjoy writing, and one of my life objectives is to become a well-known writer, at least in Spain. To achieve so, I started a blog last year, where I place any piece of writing I consider good enough for my friends and fans to read (sadly, I mostly write in spanish, so I doubt many of the members of this community will be able to have a look at it and actually, understand anything).

I also like leather made stuff, reading, cinema, art, etc.

So, that's pretty much everything, for starters. Glad to be part of this.

Hey, Ander---welcome aboard!  I'd love to read your blog (and Spanish isn't a problem for me).  I'd also like to know how you learned Basque--fascinating!  If you enjoy languages, you ought to consider Esperanto as a must-look-into project.

I was born here, so I'm one of the rare cases of people with two mother-tongues. This is because my father doesn't speak basque but my mom does, so in my early childhood I learnt it from my mother (actually, before spanish).
