I was wondering if you fine fellas could give me any ideas to open up my networking options.

I know a lot of people out there in the states rely upon their allumni network(which is a great thing) but personally Ive moved to a different country and therefore my own allumni network is not so helpful.

Hoping someone out there could give me ideas concerning organizations or groups to think about as I'm trying to get a few rungs up the corporate ladder

cheers,

A few things that come to my head that I have done. 1. Go to church. 2. Join a lodge 3. Have calling cards to hand out. 4. Follow though.

Most important, and vital to all 4 suggestions: INTERACT with people.

"There are bands that are absolute crap that are enjoyable. I don't think many people who go to McDonalds would say the food is amazing, but it's not the point anyway. Let me have my junk food music now and then, world. "

"It's less of a meritocracy than you'd think.  Mostly because it's inefficient, it's optional, it's difficult to know what's acceptable (so people over-tip and under-tip without even knowing it), and it's…"

"Idk, I kind of like the meritocracy aspect of tipping. I understand that it leaves room for crappy tippers, but overall I think it is a decent model that could use some tweaking."

"The Beatles are over rated.  U2 is a solid band, I don't care what anyone says.  ACDC is the pop music of rock and roll. Yet this is not a reason to dislike them if you already like them anyway. Shocker. "
