I have noticed a lot of beards and impressive mustaches this year. I hope it's not a fad or done ironically. Interesting article attached.
Here's the actual thing:
I haven't paid to see the full article, nor have I tried too hard to find the full version for free anywhere, but the first author appears to have a Ph.D., at least, and the article appears to have been cited around the web fairly widely. I'm just as much a skeptic as anyone, but I see no reason to disqualify immediately its findings.
On a personal note, my girlfriend has made it quite clear that she thinks I'm at my most attractive when I have about a week or two of stubble on my face.
I can't wear a beard for my job (although I did let it grow for 3 months last year. I missed my wet shaving ritual so much it had to go), but I do keep at least a soul patch at all times. As far as the chest hair goes, I used to have to shave it for my job as a stripper. I just got back into the habit, as it grows in an odd elongated butterfly shape, even if what is there is pretty thick. I guess it's a matter of personal choice. As far as I'm concerned, it is your body to do with what you wish; I merely ask that you extend me the same courtesy. Besides, I've got muscles worth showing off, and shaving my torso accentuates it. Ok, I'll get down off my pedestal now.
