Manly things I hate
What are some "Manly" things we actually DONT like?
1. That instinct to size each other up in one way or the other upon first meeting.
2. After 30 years of age, my ears and nose need haircuts, but my head has less and less hair.
3. Football, basketball, baseball.
4. Their parents get uncomfortable when I start goofing around with the little kid in front of me in line at the grocery store.
5. The way younger/smaller/weaker/beta Men try to feign stoic indifference when we accidentally make eye contact.
6. The occasional young Lady who is so attractive that it is almost uncomfortable to be near her.
7. How pervasive the urge is to check out every single Lady I see.
8. My doctor has some strange fascination with sticking a camera up my butt.

I can respect that. I think that outdoor activities count just as much as competitive sports.

number 8, as bad as it is, is still better than not having the colonscopy, developing colon cancer, and having to poop the rest of your life through a colostomy.

1. It's in our genes so there's not much we can do about this one. Women do the same thing with other women.
2. Still a full head of hair but the nose and ear hair could go.
3. Enjoy watching football with my friends and family but hate it when my team doesn't play as well as they can.
4. Don't have that problem as I usually have my (now) 5 year old with me, so it's ok.
5. Don't even notice it.
6. Rather enjoy this one myself.
7. See number 6, especially when I catch the ladies appraising me (usually appreciatively but sometimes not).
8. Only happens every couple of years but still damn uncomfortable.

1. Morons who talk nothing but sports...or cars...or hunting...or fishing.
2. Having an opinion about anything that is not 'Manly' - it immediately crosses the mind of the person you are speaking with that you are 'gay'. IE - opinions on works of art or artists, appreciation of anyone's performance in performance art, opinions on 'women's topics' like Women's Rights or issues surrounding Feminism....Commentary that is not within the standard of 'What is Manly'.
3. When a child - holding boys to a false standard of behavior regarding girls who were 'Bullies' - and played the "I'm a girl" card to get away with physical violence - really heightened my sense of outrage. I had an older sister who did this shizz to me all the time. In the 4th grade, a female bully in our class abused 2 'Beta' boys, and got away with it like crazy. When she pushed me into a desk, in full view of the entire classroom when the teacher's back was turned, I shoved her back down onto the floor. (I was not going to be her 3rd victim/bitch.) Just so happens this happened exactly when the teacher turned around. Sent to the office, told I would be paddled by the Principal if it ever happened again, told him I'd take the paddle rather than be publicly humilliated by a bully - either boy or girl - He sent a harshly worded note home to my Mother - who whipped my ass with 'The Belt' for 'Hitting a girl'. Hmmm.....45 years later still leaves a bad taste in my mouth...I was identified by the Principal as 'defiant'....guess I still am. Anyone else expoerience this when they were boys?
4. Having to silently tolerate loud insensitive bullying women in public - because they again play on a man's sense of chilvalry. I separate myself from them ASAP.
5. Chicks who think it is within their purview to touch you in any fashion they please - because any 'real man' understands and appreciates lacivious behavior, no matter how lewd. Over the years I've had to tolerate women (even in the work place - afterall it IS Philly, Yo) who have rubbed my ass, felt up my pecs, touched my stomach (although...I kinda like that one). I'm a respectable looking guy - and self-assured. There is a total double standard....I'd be fired for sexual harrassment if I EVER did something like this....they believe (...and ?? rightly) that no man will ever comment because it is not 'Manly' and you are relegated to being 'Beta' to their 'Alpha' because as a man, you would look like a total 'little bee-aatch' if you were to protest....and, (I guess even in my opinion) a man who would draw attention to this kind of behavior would not be acting like a gentleman.
# 4 above - happens all the time. When did everyone in our society become so acutely 'wary' of any man who likes kids? While it is prudent not to give full grown men unresticted access to your children - society goes overboard looking at Every male they see as a potential child-abuser. You can see it in the eyes of women who have an over-developed sense of 'Child Abuse Radar'. So offensive!! Such an over-reaction. Yes, you have to be prudent caring for your kids...but, come on already!!
#6 above - lol...yes, it does happen on occasion....but - 'nature is what we were put on this earth to control'...if you know what I mean.

Excellent, well thought-out response.
For your No. 5 I've been in that position...and loved every minute of it.
For number 4 above; young kids automatically annoy me till I get to know them, so that's never been a problem.
For number 6 above; being a father of teenage girls weird things happen to your psyche as you watch your daughters and their friends blossom into women. An automatic shut-off as it were comes into affect. Kinda takes the fun out of things.

#6 and #7. This has been driving me nuts lately. My wife has been giving me plenty of sex, yet my hormones are out of control. I told her as much yesterday actually. I can't help but seek out attractive girls to look at as I walk through the city.

Sports are one of the manly things I love. I always have, but the fact that my girlfriend loves sports too makes it even more special for the both of us.
But the thing I hate? The fact that I get weird looks when I take my dog to the park by myself. I always feel like people think Im some type of pervert checking out kids.

It's #3 for me.
I've never been a Jock so I am not at all up to date on traditional competitive sports. When pressed, I just let them know I'm into shooting at the range and hiking. That usually bores them enough to where they start looking elsewhere for entertainment. (Score!)
