So, the other day for fun I asked on Twitter and Facebook what smells people think are manly. I thought I'd just get a few responses, but I ended up getting 80+ responses.

So, I thought I'd take the question to the AoM community. What smells do you think are manly?

I always thought the smell of a badger hair brush after just being used for shaving had a very specific aroma to it. Barber shops seem to have a similarly identifiable scent
I went to the wife on this one, and immediately she pops back with Sandalwood, and Old Spice.
Gunpowder, tobacco and whiskey
Oil, gasoline, fresh-cut wood...anything to do with cutting wood or working on cars. And Old Spice. Anytime I smell the original scent I always think of my dad.
the smell of a pipe, Brut cologne, the lawn after being mowed
Selsun Blue.
leather, cut hay, diesel fumes, tobacco pipe, Old Spice original scent, sawdust, burning charcoal, napalm in the morning
Yeah, it most certainly does. Blood tastes a bit like iron as well.
Coffee. Pipe tobacco. Wet leaves. Old books. Fresh soil. Bay rum. Old leather sofa. Hot engine of an old car.

I could go on. These are my favorites.
The smell of smoke in one's hair and clothes after a night around the campfire
My dad was a pipe smoker and passed away in 1994. When I went back home and cleaned out his collection of stuff I found the pipe that he'd been smoking on the day he died. Today it sits over my desk. The smell of my dad is pretty faint, but its still there and every so often I'm reminded of him by that old pipe. Other smells - new tires, a hot engine, campfires, bacon cooking.
Manly smells: Coast deodorant soap, tire and lube shops (the rubber and the grease), hair tonic, engines, Polo or Old Spice colognes.

"Encourage him to start smoking immediately. That way he can be proud of himself like his big brother."
