Hey guys, I'm having a kid soon and I need some help coming up with a name. If we could discuss some great, strong man names, it would help me out much.
Thanks.

I've always been fond of the name Jackson.
i'm agreeing with jackson. ever since dons of anarchy started on fx a few months back, i've been partial to the name "Jax," the main character's name, short for jackson

Personally, I like Jackson, but don't like plain old Jack.  Jack is a manly name, but too common.  Also, Jax on that show is a damn sissy.

Although there was another thread on this... why not another? I want to brainstorm too.

I like things that clearly say "man" for sons, or speak of strength or wildness. (But "Samson" is a lot to live up to.)

Jack -- essentially, it *means* man
Forrest
Sheridan -- one meaning is "wildness"
Things with "wood" in them, but not "Woodrow"
"Jack" seems to be the failsafe name for 99% of Hollywood's leading characters. It must evoke some sort of solid manly-man aura.
i did a search, i didnt want to be "one of those guys," but I guess I am.
Yeah, second Jackson. I think the three letter names (or the names that shorten to good three letters) are good like Moe, Joe, Max, Fin, Jim, Leo, but I'd stay away from Bob and Tad (no offense meant Bob's and Tad's of the world). Brock is pretty manly sounding and if he turned to rap he could go by B-Rock. The Leo names are good, Leo, Leon, Leonard, Leonardo.
leonidas.
Talk about a hard name to live up to, Krist!
My Son's name is Benjamin Leonidas.

Attempting to live up to it will make him a better man.

Awwww.

I often wonder about aspirational names like that, "Christian" being the best example.
A friend of mine had a baby recently and named him Emmitt. Not sure how manly it is, but it's different and makes me think of a Civil War veteran.
