My Grandfather used to say "I learned more from listnin' than I ever taught anybody by talkin'."
After two deployments, I say "Adventures suck when you're having them."
And finally, "I like my job because I get to see people that I don't want to be."
I think its the other way around -- "You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas."
"And they say that our society has lost its finesse."
It's from the movie "Duets" which I just recently watched again. I like it because it's a reminder that even if society has lost its finesse, we can still find some comfort in those moments when IT finds us. Finesse, that is.
"A man who won't die for something is not fit to live."
~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Life, as I see it, is not a location, but a journey. Even the man who most feels himself “settled” is not settled–he is probably sagging back. Everything is in flux, and was meant to be. Life flows. We may live at the same number of the street, but it is never the same man who lives there. - Henry Ford
This quote has had a profound impact on my life. The way I see it, it's all about embracing change in yourself and in others and not taking anything personally when it happens.
Ouch! That hits home! The only constant is change...
"Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, hear the lamentation of the women."
"Where there is love, there is no darkness" - Burundi Proverb
"Don't fake the funk on a nasty dunk"
"Take the news like a man, good or bad" Henry Fonda in Spencers Mountain.
