...in the past half-hour I've twice been warned by my virus protection scheme not to visit a page, on a well-established site. One was here on AoM, other was National Review IIRC. Anybody else getting this? I'm wondering if it's my machine, random chance, or if some malware's having its epidemic on the Web.

Permalink Reply by Phil Swatton on February 4, 2013 at 11:20am It could be the adverts on the site, as it's not unknown for ads to be malware/spam/cons, even those ads run by Google. Could even be malware on your PC so it's worth scanning to make sure
Permalink Reply by Jess Levens on February 4, 2013 at 11:20am It's fine on my end. It may just be your machine. I'm using Chrome too.
Permalink Reply by Rebekah on February 4, 2013 at 1:25pm I'm not getting warnings, but I can't access all sorts of sites. I'm running Firefox on a Mac. It could be my connection. It could also be a power or other outage with the web sites' servers (possibly caused by malware).
Permalink Reply by Josh on February 4, 2013 at 1:39pm I was getting these a few days ago. It's one of the ad servers. Mine cleared itself up after a few hours.
