I loathe it.  It's this big bulky useless thing in my pocket.  Are there any alternatives to the wallet?  I know one should always carry cash.  (Random - how much cash should a man carry?)  Aside from cash - I have 2 debit cards (soon to be one), my drivers license, student ID, and insurance card.  What should I do?

money clip

Money clip probably the most popular alterantive. You can use card cases they are small and compact however you would need to fold your cash to fit. At http://www.walletgear.com/credit-card-cases/credit-card-holders-1.html you can see some pretty small cases, that will fit in your front pants pocket, have double ID holders like for you drivers license and student ID.

The alternative is plenty of pockets. There's plenty of normal looking, but smart clothes with lots of hidden pockets. Failing that, get a cheap tailor to add a bunch of them for you.

Thank you!  I will look into a money clip then.

There are thinner wallets out there.  This doesn't look too bad.  Mixture of a wallet and a magnetic money clip ...

Just search for "thin wallet" on Google.  I always carry around $300 in cash, in hundreds.  Redneck emergency fund.  I carry in hundreds because I'm a lot less likely to break a hundred for an "emergency" Whataburger.

Look forward to the future, sir.

We'll all be tagged at birth by United States/VISA with barcodes in our brain stems.

No need to carry anything, we'll be walking IDs, debit and credit cards.

Which reminds me...I need to find and invest in a chain-maille manufacturing company.  I predict a big future for RFID blocking jewelry/accessories.

I carry the carbon fiber. This was one of the projects I funded on kickstarter.

This would work great for cards...but not for the implanted RFID chips that are being proposed.

Thanks for the link.  I'm going to look into this.

Well, it IS a wallet thread.

I'd imagine my friend in Idaho who works with CF could fashion a nice hat (or a brooch, or a Pterodactyl)

I was being sarcastic, but looked up RFID chips and there it was.
Wow.

Jon how does that wallet work?
