So, about 80 percent of clothes I own are graphic tees, tank tops, skater hoodies, cargo pants, etc. I still wear most of it, I'm 19 going on 20. I noticed it looks quite out of place now, especially when I go out with my brother and his friends, who are upper 20's, all dressed in nicer clothes, jeans, henleys, button down shirts, more adult things.

So I don't need to get rid of all of it, I understand. But the urge exists for my wardrobe to grow up now. Trouble is, not sure how I would afford too many new clothes right now, I don't want to just throw away things. Even donating stuff will cause me to be out of clothes eventually. I would just keep the few jeans and the couple button down shirts, but the 20 or so graphic tees and "skater" clothes I feel silly wearing now. Where can I get a bit of money for these things?

A consignment shop.  But you won't get much.  OTOH, you might get cheap clothes at a consignment shop, whether you sell your old tees or not.  Believe it or not, you can find decent clothes there, though it's tougher than at the mall.

eBay, Craigslist, consignment stores.
Can you get your parents to buy you some "investment-grade" clothes?
Buy second-hand if you can, quality stuff does not wear out easily nor goes out of style.

donate at GoodWill then go around front and buy from GoodWill.

Same at St Vincent DePaul

Seriously, this isn't sarcasm:

Find the local online "mom groups" on Facebook or Craigslist or Kijiji or Reddit and post up an ad for your t-shirts there, either as lot or as a X$/shirt sort of things. Some mom out there will be happy to buy a bunch of skater t-shirts for her kid at a discounted rate. Stick the mom groups because general buy and sell groups are flakey; you'll get a bunch of lowball offers and the ones who promise to buy will flake out at the last minute, probably without giving you any notice. The mom groups are serious business though. No fucking around. You'll probably get competing offers.

Honestly you're not going to get much. I would suggest donating them or keep some around. I still have eight graphic t-shirts at 33, just nice to wear when going on errands or a walk or to relax around the house.

If you have any 46/30 pants I'll take them.

I started phasing out that stuff a year or two ago. I still have some jeans and t shirts (almost everyone does), but fewer. I generally wear collared shirts now. I found it better to gradually start buying nicer clothes when you can than making a sudden change. You get fewer weird comments that way, and it's better for your pocketbook. Just be patient.

Not much of a market for used clothes. You may get a little, I guess, but you're not going to fund a new wardrobe by selling the old one.

JB

I would say a store like Plato's Closet, your local city's Facebook virtual garage sale, or eBay. My wife has sold stuff through all 3 and made money. If you have some popular brands people will pay crazy money on eBay. I don't get it, but hey I'll take it.

A lot of useful tips, I also have a lot of old clothes, I gave it to the free of charge for the needy, and gradually update it with my online store, when there are discounts

Donate to an official place and then keep the receipt and claim them on your taxes.

If I recall, you can get up to $200 back on taxes for clothing donations. I am sure JB can shed some more light on this.

Gotta agree with vendetta here, I put all the clothes I hated in plastic boxes and then donated them off. Resellin' old clothes, especially teenage stuff, doesn't fly unless you do face-to-face stuff and to people with niche interests: a gothic tee will get a buyer more than some standard graphic tee.
