Greetings everyone

I used to post here before but moved overseas and things changed. Anyway, I am facing a current problem and would like some advice from people who know how to deal with this type of stuff or have personally overcome this problem before.

I am trying to break into the acting business (bet you have heard this before!) while trying to find a footing in the normal working world and both are suffering because of this.

Back story - Did theater 101 in college, was ok at it but loved the whole creative outlet. Moved to Australia from Malaysia to study acting. Now back in Malaysia and decided that doing short films would be a better option than stage, I am writing a short script to get made. Figured it is a good way to start (think Rocky).

Now, with the current job market I am working in an office that pays decent but I do not enjoy the job so much, just trying to make it by everyday. I want to become successful and trying to be the best as my day job while maintaining my acting / writing dreams gets just that much harder as the days go by.

So everyone, how does a person serve two masters and be good at it?

Yrs truly

Frustrated and confused

You do what you must, in order to do what you love.

And, if you prefer Scripture, "Render unto Caesar that which art Caesar's, and unto God that which art God's."

Two masters, piece of cake.  It's when you get into the four or five masters simultaneously that life really gets interesting.

Thx for the reply Native Son

Its very encouraging what you wrote, but what are some pro active ways I can use to handle this situation? Love the scripture reference btw.

I don't know if you read it already, but I believe this article applies to your situation and might provide some insights
