What's your favorite? What's the hottest stuff you've ever had (or know of)? What's the best food to put it on?
I'd say my favorite hot sauce is Siriachi. Not the most original, but it's not half bad. The hottest stuff I know of (never had it though) is called Sudden Death. http://www.hotsauceworld.com/blairsuddeat.html

Permalink Reply by Matt on January 7, 2013 at 8:59am Hottest I've had was one called "Da Bomb" it had a nice smoked pineapple flavor before it kicked me in the face. And that was just a toothpick drop on my tongue. Can't say I wouldn't do it again though.
My buddy got a kick out of it, he knew he had no milk around when he had me try it...
That reminds me I still owe him for that one.
Permalink Reply by Jack Bauer on January 7, 2013 at 11:04am Schlotzsky's sauce -- in-house brand sauce from a Texas sandwich joint. Second is Frank's Red Hot, which is similar to Schlotzsky's but is storebought rather than an in-house brand. Third is Cholula.
All have just the right mix of heat and flavor. I don't get the need for flavorless pain, outside of an "I dare you to eat that". Those three go well on most everything -- chicken wings, eggs, deli sandwiches, mac & cheese, breakfast burritos, pizza, grilled corn on the cob. I had the Blackened Redfish Ponchartrain at the best seafood joint in Houston ... and I'd swear it had Frank's Red Hot in it.

Permalink Reply by Rick Shelton on January 7, 2013 at 11:34am I like "Franks" hotsauce on wings (the original wing sauce). On Tacos and Burritos I like most things with Habenero peppers. I don't like just hot, it has to have taste as well.
Permalink Reply by Perspective on January 7, 2013 at 2:39pm For pure power, Dave's Insanity Sauce is the hottest I've ever tasted personally. Frank's Red Hot is my personal favorite for flavor, however - I find Tabasco to be too vinegary for my taste.
Also, an honorable mention goes to Del Taco for their Del Inferno sauce - it's the only fast food hot sauce I have ever tried that is actually spicy.
Permalink Reply by John Opalenik on January 12, 2013 at 6:41pm While most of you probably wont have the chance to try it I've got to share. The home made hot sauce at East Coast Taco in Niantic CT is in my opintion, as hot as a sauce can get and still taste good. East Coast Taco makes a bunch of different hot sauces and salsas (all of which are amazing) but their hottest wing sauce is the one I'm talking about.
Permalink Reply by Cisco Carson on January 12, 2013 at 6:59pm Real Mexican food in the east coast? That's crazy talk.
Permalink Reply by John Opalenik on January 13, 2013 at 7:57am After going to southern California I will acknowledge that it isn't authentic Mexican food, but it's closer than anything else you'll find east of the Rockies. Also it's right near the beach and a great used book store so it's great to make a day of it with those three stops.
