Hi Everyone,

I have visited the site on and off for about three years and have recently started lurking the forums.

I am 28 and have reached a kind of crisis point in my life where I need things to change (mainly my career choice and lack of social life).  I am hoping to find inspiration and friendship here as I know this is a welcoming community.

I am passionate about film photography, love listening to records and playing my guitar.  I am currently a teacher but don't think it is my calling.  One of my goals is to improve my skills in general DIY as I recently bought my first home with my (soon to be) wife.

I'll look forward to talking with you,

Gary

Welcome, my friend.

Well you've come to the right place, welcome to AOM.

Welcome.

Need a new direction in life? Want to meet interesting people, travel the world, work in exciting and exotic locales, all while building valuable life skills and reaffirming your manliness? Two words: Military Service! I’ve spent decades in the Army and can sense you might be a quality recruit. You’re a teacher, so I guess you have at least an undergrad degree, which means you might be officer material! The Army needs quality Lieutenants and Captains right now, though no doubt some Devil Dogs lurking in the forums will pipe up about the benefits of the Marine Corps.

Options, choices, and more options means the world can be your oyster while serving your country in uniform! See your recruiter today!

Thanks everyone,

Bob, that is quite a sales pitch you've got there!  A lot of things I would learn in the military are attractive to me, but not as a career.  Thanks for the suggestion though!
