Hemingway truths
Earnest Hemingway onced said to write a good book write the truest sentance that you know. i like to call this writeing exercise createing a hemingway truth. So what are some Heming way truths you can come up with. ex a soilder might say ... you join to help your countery you fight to protect your brothers in arms. Lets see what you manliy man can come up with.

First off, Hemingway would never have written anything that tactless. A google on that quote seems to show that it comes from Maynard Keenan of Tool.
Secondly, there was a lot more going on with Hemingway's suicide than simple cowardice. The man came from a family with a history of suicides, so he was always more understanding of the general idea than most. You can find his curiosity with the concept in some of his earliest stories. Also, his deteriorating health played a huge role. Hemingway was in two plane crashes in 1952 which left him in pain for the rest of his life, yet they did not directly cause his death as he didn't kill himself until 1961. However his health and mental state rapidly deteriorated during those years. This was due to a genetic disease called hemochromatosis, which results from an overload of iron in the blood. This disease commonly leads to diabetes, liver failure, heart failure and depression. The same genetic disease likely played a huge role in the suicides of his grandfather, father, sister, brother, and son. It wasn't simple cowardice that led to his death, but an undiagnosed and untreated (He was in fact diagnosed with the condition, but it was too late for treatment to do much good) disease which wreaked havoc on his physical and mental state.

If it ain't his quote, it ain't his quote. I figured the guy who posted it had done his research. Doesn't really change my assessment of Hemingway either way.
I was already aware of his illness and the other suicides in his family. Changes nothing.
