Afternoon, men,

I'm working on a blog that provides help for husbands and fathers who take on these frightening responsibilities before age 25. I want to offer insights and tips, not exactly Art of Manliness stuff, but definitely linked.

Anyway, I'd love to have some guest posts from other men who married early. Check out the site at skippingbachelorhood.wordpress.com if you're interested.

I'd especially like to hear from guys who could offer their stories or practical advice. Please let me know if you'd be interested. Thanks!

I apologize for being late (software update releases are hell) but I would definitely be interested in providing any help I could to the blog. Something that hasn't been explicitly mentioned is that I (and i'm sure many other younger married people) sometimes feel like I don't have friends that understand my different perspective on things. Just a thought.

Hey, Joseph,

Thanks for chiming in. I think this is a crucial issue and really needs to be addressed on the site. Would you be willing to write a little about how you've dealt with this issue and give some pointers on how other guys can address it? If we get a decent community there, which will definitely take awhile, I imagine we could get some great thoughts from other folks in similar straits.

If you want to do that, just type something out and send it to me in a message on the site here or at connergarmstrong@gmail.com. Thanks!

I actually just started a similar blog. Mine is focused in general on the problems and benefits of starting a family young. My wife and I were 21 and 22 respectively when we got married, and our first daughter was born when I was 24.

Once my blog is a little further along, and my writing has matured a bit, maybe I can write a post or 2 for your blog.

Terrific. I look forward to reading your stuff. There definitely seems to be a gap in resources, so it's great to hear that somebody else saw the need.

I think you might have something here. I followed a similar path, married at 21, went to college at 23 and just had our first child at 28. Nothing crazy but it definitely had some unique challenges and blessings. Let me know how I can help.

I appreciate it, Jack. If you have any thoughts about those challenges and blessings that you think would help other guys in a similar situation, I'd love to put them up on the blog. Shoot me an email at connergarmstrong@gmail.com if you'd like to contribute. And thanks!

Missing my best friend

My father passed away on Memorial Day this year.  The entire family was at his house for one of his traditional cookouts by the pool.  There was always plenty of food, drinks, laughter, and memories at his cookouts. This day was no different with one major exception, dad wasn't feeling that well and didn't even get out of bed until mid morning.   As I am the oldest son, I was always the one groomed to step up and take over if dad was ever unavailable (which was rare).   I got to their house…See More

"What does this verse add to the discussions, Herb? How is Paul saying it different than me saying the same thing about another deity, or some other person? "
