Hi, I was wanting to see if anyone had any suggestions for how i should balance my workouts. I used to wrestle and box, but i had to take a break in order to raise my GPA. Im going to return to my martial arts, but i know that in order to excel, i need to become more fit. I started researching methods of workouts, but became overwhelmed with all of the possibilities. I know i need to improve my explosion(Plyometric), my strength, my endurance, and my cardio. It seems like a lot, and i dont know how to go about balancing it and getting good results.

Insanity. It literally does everything you just said.

This may sound simplistic and even too low-key for the more aggressively fit posters, but you may want to resume with a modest program of calesthetics, including the traditional body-weight push ups, situps, squats, and "trunk twisters" with running/jogging.  It depends on exactly how much more physical condition "deteriorated" during your chair-bound study break.

5x5 Stronglifts, and they aren't time consuming

I'd start by asking your coach or whoever's most experienced at your martial arts programs, since it seems like your fitness goals relate to martial arts.

If you just want to be very healthy, ask your doctor what that would be, or look up the standards from the American Heart Association and Centers for Disease Control.

As to what strength, endurance, or cardio exercise to do, just pick some things. Overall health comes from changing things up, so don't worry about finding "the perfect workout." Just start working out, and continually push yourself to work out differently, harder, stronger, and longer.

Jim Wendlers 531 "triumvent" is a great workout to increase strength and endurance.  I would highly suggest trying it for a cycle or two.  Make sure you eat plenty of complex carbs and a lot of protein.  If you enjoy fast foods, I would try to go 30 days without it and see how you feel after those thirty days.  Also, if you drink a lot of energy drinks and soda try drinking a lot more water.  It will make you feel better and you could actually see some results.

Advice on whether to stop talking to a girl

Tonight, I finally told her of my feelings for her over the phone. I shouldn't have waited this long but I did. She didn't return them. As politely as she could she told me that she wasn't especially attracted to me, and that my obvious attraction to her had made talking to me and being friends with me a little awkward at times. It was a relief to…See More
