Hello there! I'm Dave, a recent college grad currently living in Oklahoma. Although my actually call the upper Midwest my home. I graduated from college in May with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Right now I'm currently employed as an officer in the Air Force, and got posted down south in Oklahoma to undergo pilot training.

As far as sports and hobbies go, I picked up fishing last year, hopefully soon I'll get the hang of actually finding the fish. I played hockey and soccer recreationally when I was younger, tennis during high school, and got into running as I went into college. Last year I ran my first ever half marathon at the Air Force marathon in Ohio. During my free time I enjoy doing some casual gaming or going out to see whatever's new in theaters.

I started reading AoM last year and really liked it's down to earth articles on how to build the skills and characteristics that actually define you as a man. I'm working on applying some of the things I've read around the site to my hobbies and personal life so I can be a truly better man.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about the military, flying, or studying engineering. And, if anyone knows what there is to see and do in Oklahoma, I'm all ears. I find this state's lack of lakes disturbing...

"That's a good point about the average physique as well. At one time, I weighed 75 pounds more than I weigh now. I still went shirtless as I've always done. It shouldn't be a privilege to be earned by looking "acceptable" to…"

"Swim shirts! I do feel for those kids and men who are very out of shape and embarrassed about it, but as far as "protecting" themselves from the sun? That's another subject that I might post about."

"That's a teaching moment for that mother. If the mom doesn't approve of the men in her life going shirtless, she can still teach her daughter a 'live and let live' attitude toward it and other nonoffensive behaviors. "

"Yes, and there's a bit if irony there: so many benign things are sexualized these days, yet people are very sexually repressive. "
