Hello, Art of Manliness; my name is Ender, and I'm a senior biochemistry and philosophy double major. I'm currently towards the end of the medical school application process (so fingers are crossed).

I've been perusing articles here for a few years now, and I thought I would join the conversation on these fine fora. I imagine it's more or less the digital equivalent of chatting at a barber shop while you wait.

That's a good analogy. You just got lots of cool points in my book just for your name. LOL Have you read the books by Orson Scott Card?

Anyway, welcome and good luck on med school. I hope you know what you're getting yourself in to!

Only Ender's Game; I never got into the sequels/parallel novels.

As for medical school, I hope so too!

Hallo Ender, welcome to AoM.

Interesting pairing for your academic pursuits. I look forward to your discussion contributions. Will keep my fingers crossed as well, for your med school plans.

Thank you.

Science and philosophy make a more natural combination than one would think. I have always seen science as a subset of philosophy.

A fair point. There was a pretty hard divide between the two departments when I was in school. But generally, I would agree with you.

Philosophy major? Have fun with that

I hope that's not sarcastic...
