I am interested in finding an online community in which men challenge each other daily to new heights of manliness: meeting intense daily goals physically, mentally, and in one's work; transforming into hardcore, kickass, no-excuses, no-whining men. A group in which members post every day and take it extremely seriously. I'm thinking almost military, not Don Draper shaving kit BS. Does anyone know of such a community? It wouldn't surprise me if such a thing were invitation only and secret.

Cheers, Chayil.

You have got to be kidding me

No, I'm really not.

Are you asking about a subgroup on this site or on another site.

A group anywhere. I didn't find what I was looking for on this site—the closest thing was the 30 days to manliness 2009 group. There's a lot of great groups and interesting discussion on this site, and obviously this seems the best public place where people would know of other groups, which is why I'm asking here. But I don't think what I am looking for is on this site.

I don't mean to give an air of ridiculousness by saying "might be secret or invitation-only." I'm not trying to join some secret CIA cell group or to imply a degree of self-seriousness I don't have. I just mean that if there were a group of guys doing this, they might be pretty close and a little wary of having every Tom, Dick, and Harry trying to join up on a lazy Tuesday night after eating too much KFC.

I was talking about where you blatantly said that we dont' take ourselves seriously. It was a dick move, a dick statement and it shows that you have no idea what you even want.

If you want a militia to militant environment, go join the Armed forces. This is a website for men who have a serious notion of what men are and not some fairy tale desire to act a tough guy.  It is a site for self improvement, not forced improvement.  Where we are still individuals and we allow other men to actually be men rather than a robot characture fantasy notion of manliness.

No, you misunderstand me. I said take "it" seriously, that is, posting about personal goals every day. I did not at all mean to demean this site or members of this site; that would be counterproductive in the extreme. Nothing in my post is meant to imply that members of this site don't take yourselves seriously, and I'm sorry it came across that way. I just mean I'm trying to find a specific kind of group where people post about their daily goals and challenge each other daily on those goals in a very rigorous fashion. Note that I didn't define what those goals had to be except they would be more about personal improvement and less about consumerism—this has nothing to do with the caricature you accuse me of.

I ask here because I assume some guys here know what I'm talking about, practice it, and might know where to point me. Not intended to offend, and I do know exactly what I want. And yeah, the military—I'm former IDF, already did that, looking for something like that but less about killing Syrians if you dig me.

Cheers, Chayil.

Sorry about being a dick myself then. Best of luck hoss.

Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure others would love it. Echoing them, start the group

I should note that I did look for a group like this on this site and didn't find it. The closest was the 30 days to a better man 2009 group, but I want something a bit more focused and regular.

Such a society might in fact exist. If it did it would be invitation only. You may or may not receive an invitation.

Of course. That's inherent in the terms. If you're serious and not attempting an internet agent provocateur, I'm interested in an invitation.

Ah but you asked, you must show you are worthy to join the group.  Just SAYING you are manly is nothing.  What have you posted to show you are worth the groups time?

....why the hell would you want that.... seems humourless.... no one takes anything on the internet that seriously...
