Permalink Reply by Cisco Carson on February 14, 2013 at 3:09pm It's such a contrast. I post here and on a gay men's forum and right now there are at least 4 Valentines threads going on over there. Gay couples wishing everyone a happy Valentine's, singles feigning to be angry over not having a Valentines and all kinds of other funny and touching Valentine's Day comments, you see a real joy and fun spirit over there. Here it's still discussing whether libertarians sleep on box spring beds to "where's the best place to hide a knife?" from a week ago. Thank GOD I'm a gay man.
Permalink Reply by Carl Monster on February 14, 2013 at 3:23pm Cisco, the foundation of gay culture is the same-sex romantic relationship, right? Therefore V-day is a big deal, as it celebrates relationships based upon romantic love.
AOM is a very different place. As an outsider to it's culture I don't get it either, but I do enjoy observing men in their native, virtual environment, something I don't get in my real life, except for the occasional eavesdropped conversation at the gym.
Happy V-Day to you.
Permalink Reply by Cisco Carson on February 14, 2013 at 3:44pm Valentines Day is for opposite-sex romantic relationships too if I'm not mistaken. Enjoy yourself Carl, you deserve it.
Permalink Reply by Jack Bauer on February 14, 2013 at 3:35pm I suppose it'd be worrisome if there wasn't a contrast.
Valentine's is celebrated with the wife and kids ... not with everybody everywhere. I thought that was the point.

Permalink Reply by Cisco Carson on February 14, 2013 at 3:59pm Would it kill you to respond to someone who's wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day with at least saying; "My girlfriend/wife and I wish you a Happy Valentines Day?" Or tell of your plans with said girlfriend/wife like Carl did? And no Jack, gay men are not aliens in comparison to straight men, as much as you would like to believe it.
Then why do you address yourself as an alien.
Instead of constantly making such a scene about you being gay, just say "Me and my man wish a happy vday"
One way means that you aren't a bitch with a chip on your shoulder that has to scream out about it, the other....
Permalink Reply by Cisco Carson on February 14, 2013 at 4:51pm I'm not calling myself an alien, I'm pointing out how jack see's gay men, here and in other posting on these other forums. He sees me as so alien and so Foreign from himself that I might as well be an alien from space.
This 'bitch with a chip on your shoulder' bit is getting tired Shieldes. try a new line, it was cute the first few times you said it, now?...
I promise anyone who posts here, you won't come off as any less of a man if you do.
Tell you what, I'll stop saying it, when I stop seeing it, until then...would you like some guacamole with that chip or just some salsa?
Permalink Reply by Cisco Carson on February 14, 2013 at 5:24pm The issue, is, you think you matter. Guacamole, I hate tomato-based anything.
Only commies hate tomato based things. Great, now two strikes against you
Permalink Reply by Cisco Carson on February 14, 2013 at 5:44pm I though commies love everything red. I'm a white sauce loving anarchist...with Jesus in my heart...
