Gentlemen,
I am looking for some ideas for gifts to get my groomsmen.  I would like to avoid the "typical gifts" as I feel we all already have enough drinking gear(flasks, bar mugs, steins, etc.)  I would also if possible like to avoid watches, knives, lighters.
I am looking for ideas that are somewhat outside of the norm.  Maybe something unique from a foreign culture, or something clever that you have seen.
For general info: 4 guys in the party, the age range is 19 her brother-26 my brother.  All are into sports, camping, hiking, music...etc
Price range should be $100 or less.
Thanks for your assistance.

I actually found the Art of Manliness a little over a year and a half ago searching for groomsmen gifts. I really did not want to get a flask or an engraved stein like you mentioned. Brett actually had a great post about this topic a few years ago.

There are some great ideas there, but some of them are a bit pricey. The gift that I finally decided to get my groomsmen was a personalized pub sign. They ended up being very nice and great quality. You can pick different themes or sign types and include each groomsman's name in them. Hope this helps, and congratulations on the upcoming nuptials.

Got my groomsmen:

* An American Indian blanket

* A hundred little tobacco bundles each tied with a prayer for him and his family, then burned to "release" the prayers -- an Indian custom

* A video game

...that is, each was personalized to the tastes of the man.

tea sets.

harney and co. ltd does a set in what looks like a high end cigar box with four tins of tea and a really nice strainer/drainer in it, pair that with a nice brown betty teapot and your buds will get a lifetime of use out of it.

then again i'm a borderline fanatical proponent of tea.

All the groomsman gifts I've relieved have made their way to the junk drawer or worse. Cheers to you for trying to make it worth while. Something that might be neat if you're all in to camping and you want something classic, These candle lanterns are pretty neat. They're inexpensive and throw a lot of light. I take mine out every time I camp. I like old school type stuff like that. Several camping stores sell them and when the gaudy label is peeled off, they have a classic look. My $.02

Rule of thumb ... If it's sold at 'Things Remembered' it will soon be forgotten.

Some really great ideas here Gentlemen!  Appreciate the assist.
