I think the question is what is your style?
I use vests and waistcoats in my business dress and casual looks.
Vests work great with a dress shirt, indigo blue denim and a fine pair of brogues.
I have seen some try fluffy vest over a suit coat but that looks silly to me.
Looking at the images, those jackets are horrid style wise. It provides no structure to your shoulders and the collars distract rather then guide the eye. It does nothing to frame your body and project a confident controlled person.
:) Sorry if that was a bit much.
Your clothing should fit your goals. Emergency Enviroment Gumby suits look horrid but do a great job for their task.
The task of your business clothing is to project a smart, solid, trustworthy image to the people you work with. When someone needs someone to represent them / the company you go with the option that looks the part. So you always want to look the part.
That said, I have D20 bow ties, agents of shield cufflinks, etc.... All subtle. Is someone points it out is something to discuss. I'm a Geek Engineer. However at 10 feet you can't tell.
Now for your leisure clothing. What ever works for you.
Great weekender look. Between the shirt and jeans you are not in work mode.
Once you do that, (weekend casual mode) you have a lot of variance. I still don't like puffy collars but this is an outdoor functional jacket. So its fine.
But that is just my take. I lean far more dress then casual when doing dress casual. I like a blazer, turtle neck, dark blue jeans and brogues, myself.
