It seems that pants over the last few years have had decreasing room in the crotch. I have tried to buy relaxed fit pants, but it seems like the manufacturer maintains the same distance between the top of the pants and the crotch.

Has anyone else had the same issue? If so, what pants have worked for you? I've considered BDUs but don't know of anywhere around me that sells them so that I could try them on.

Columbia cargo pants work?

Thanks for the help.

Stores and brands that are more high-end are more likely to offer the sort of pants you want.  Brooks Brothers, for example, makes a variety of different fits, from skinny modern to full.

Not sure this is what you're looking for, but for Jeans I but Levi's 501 shrink-to-fit. You buy them, wet them and wear then until they dry. They end up fitting great. But to solve the problem to describe, I wear a hard athletic cup during the drying phase which ensures there's a little extra room where it counts. I know it sounds weird, but I'm telling you. Best pants ever.
Check out Duluth Trading. They make pants specific to this need. http://www.duluthtrading.com/

Ballroom jeans. hidden gusset of fabric at crotch give room to squat and everything. Ordered some of their stuff...not been disappointed. Good products, if a little over-priced.

Unicorn pants. You'd look ridiculous to say nothing of crass.

I own 6 or 7 of the same exact style of pants. They are Dickies industrial pleated front comfort waist pants. Mine are all navy blue. They have a crotch gusset, and have good range of motion. You can stick your fist in your pocket. The comfort waist is good because it can cinch in as well as out. I catch hell buying pants. They always seem to be made in Noassistan for guys who never put anything in their pockets and evidently are hung like a Ken doll.

I doubt it was the posters intent, but I kinda feel like anyone complaining about crouch room in their pants is in the same rhetorical box as the guy who is complaining about how his wallet isn't big enough to hold all his hundred dollar bills :)

Actually, it's a very real problem.

Wrangler makes a brand of jeans, called Riggs WorkWear, which includes a crotch gusset.  One of the most comfortable designs I've worn.  They're also available in a heavy cotton twill fabric.

Not my intent, but thanks for throwing this out there. Just noticing that most of the time suit pants have ample room while a normal pair of jeans or slacks don't.

You'll end up looking like Rowan Atkinson in the Blackadder pilot: "codpiece?" "the Black Russian!"

Tight pants on men are ridiculous.

How to gain more respect from people around you (lost article)

I was wondering if anyone here could help me. I once read an article on AoM (I'm pretty sure it was) about how to behave and act to gain more respect from your friends and the people around you. There's very little I can recall from the article. I think though there was some tip about when you start talking to group of people you should not turn your front directly at them at first, instead you should wait for them to turn their front at you... don't know if this helps anyone remembering the…See More
