Sorry if the title is a little vague, I didn't know how else to word it.
So, here's the deal - my facial hair grows in two different directions. On the left side of my face it grows down towards my jaw, and on the right side it grows towards the back of my head. I feel that because of this, I don't always get a close shave on the right side, because it's rather awkward to shave sideways across my face.
I was wondering if anyone else had a similar condition and what they did about it?
This is a very common issue (I wouldn't necessarily call it a problem) because while the hair on your face is of a different texture than the hair on your head, it grows in similar patterns. On your head, you might have a natural part, well your beard is no different.
This could be natural or it could be based on which side you sleep on, as over time your hair will likely grow in a certain pattern based on the fact that you sleep on one side or the other. If your intent is to grow out it out nice and thick, I wouldn't worry too much about it as it will even itself out. Otherwise, you can trim it up as needed.
I shave my head, so if If only went with the grain, I'd have a gravelly quality to the back of my head because it grows up while the rest of the head grows down. Beard is no different.
same pattern here. never been a problem when I have a beard though. just comb it down with a little moisturizer and you're set.
Wow, it does follow the natural part of my hair. I never noticed!
