Everyday carry.
What do you carry in the form of weaponry on a daily basis? Do you carry anything? Why or why not? Being able to defend yourself is important, and you never know when that moment would arise.
Ever since I can remember, my father impressed upon me the importance of carrying a pocketknife, and I got my first pocketknife when I was 8, I believe. Now I haven't always carried a knife with me, but I've always had several pocket knives, and I am making it a goal to carry with me whenever I can. This is my current and favorite hardware right here.
It's a solid feeling knife. Heavy. Satisfyingly easy to open and close with one hand. And as I found out this summer while traveling, illegal to carry on your person in the State of Mississippi. Unfortunately, it's obviously cheaply made. And it's made in China. At the back of the blade where it hinges to the body, the metal was obviously broken off or something. So at somepoint I want to get a better, nicer, American made Gerber or Buck knife or something. Speaking of, does anyone know if it's even possible to get an American made knife?

No he's right. Ex-Marine. I was dishonorably discharged for stealing a tank and driving it through Pendleton. After my courts martial, I raced motorcycles and then became an actor.

Buck 110 Folding knife, got mine fer round 25-30, made in usa, in my back pocket at all times, helps keep the dip tin and hanker in place

The knife was my fathers and a fearsome weapon. He was a vet and it has already removed uncountable testicles. Seriously I have used it to repair planes, boats, and automobiles. This sounded odd to me but just this week a fellow said that he was surprised that anyone "still" carried a pocket knife. maybe he was referring to all of the metal detectors that you have to frequent in Juneau(?) If my knife was not an heirloom I prefer simple, tough, stainless lockblades or multi-tools like I stash in each vehicle.I do not know when/why I started carrying tweezers but it seems like I need them more days than not so I keep carrying them. Besides splinters (we have a lot of pine needles here) they have helped repair planes and cars too. Mechanics never seem to have tweezers in their tool boxes when they need them.
The P-38 is simply the original multi-tool and helped the Allies win WW II.
I also have a variety of metallic bear spray launchers depending on the situation. It is not wise to be without access to a nearby noisemaker here but I am a little self-conscious about carrying around "townies."

I'm with you Karl Opinel is a fine knife. Carbon steel can easily be made scary razor sharp, good locking mechanism and reasonably priced.

I have a small opinel too. Not really as a weapon, though. But it's always nice to have a knife in everydays life. Opening packages, sharpening pencils, all those little mundane things.
