On the lighter side, what are some famous lines from songs, movies, television (even commercials) that you can say and people recognize them?

Even though I loathe Britney Spears (well, the songs), I can say, "Oops, I did it again" and people recognize the reference. In another three years, not so much.

It seems that everyone knows, "Allllllrighty then!"

If you can do a good voice impression (one talent I must admit to having), you can quote Bruce Willis' most famous line without having to finish it: "Yippie ky yay, mother—" and people get it.

If you throw in some classic Alka Seltzer lines, you'd better have an older crowd. "Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is" and "I can't believe I ate the whole thing" fall flat, otherwise.

OK, what do you have?

It was a great movie. Not to mention it had Alan Rickman.

One of the best discussions on AoM!
Two of my favs are lines that I doubt anyone has heard. They're from a New Zealand helicopter pilot pretending he's a fighter pilot. See "Jet Pilot music video" on YouTube
"Let me let you buy me a drink for me" and "Let me introduce to you myself to you" (my helo pilot buddies and I crack up everytime)

Kinda like Austin Powers' line ... Allow myself to introduce ... myself.

Another good one... From J.R.R. Tolkiens' The Lord of the Rings. (one of the scenes in the move where the dialog was taken directly from the book.
Bilbo Baggins speaking to the party goers in attendance of his 111th birthday party...
"I know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve..."

(crossly) "You're late."

(without turning around) "A wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."

(Gandalf's bottom lip begins trembling ...)

"What means taters, precious?"

“Frodo: I wish the ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.
Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Gandalf - "Many who live deserve death, and some that die deserve life - can you give it to them? Do not be so quick to deal out death and judgement. For Even the very wisest cannot see all ends."

I used the "introduce" line as a title in my Introduction bit, way back when (well, it feels longer ago than it was). Also fun from Austin Powers (but you have to put on the voice) is the enthusiastic, "Yeah, Baby!"

How about..."fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son"

Sorry. More Big Lebowski quotes.

Donny: Are these the Nazis, Walter?
Walter Sobchak: No, Donny, these men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of.

Walter: Nihilists! F#@k me. I mean, say what you like about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.
