Greetings everyone! This is my first official post although I have been a frequent visitor of the site for many months now.
So I have recently found myself in a new relationship right before the holidays and was wondering if you guys had any input on what type of gift to get a girl that you've only been seeing/dating for about a month.
A little background, we're both 21. We met through mutual friends and have gone on multiple dates over the past couple of weeks. Our relationship right now is a little bit long distance (2 hours drive) so when we do see each other it is usually over the weekend. I want a gift that doesn't come off as too serious seeing as the relationship is still early.
-Happy Holidays

Permalink Reply by John Snoddy on December 12, 2012 at 2:11pm Well she currently works two jobs so she doesn't have tons of free time. But what I know so far is she spends a lot of time with her family, she's a big disney movie fan. She snowboards, spends time with her two dogs, likes to cook...

I met my, now, wife on 11/13/2001 at a singles mingle. We went out a few times and she invited me to her house on Thanksgiving. That Christmas I was in the same conundrum you find yourself in. She loves, and I mean LOVES, anything Disney. I found a Disney movie that she didn't have and bought the video for her, she loved it. I also bought a little something for her two children.
Permalink Reply by Rebekah on December 12, 2012 at 2:42pm There's a Disney store in Hamilton and Mississauga. You could go there and tell the sales clerk exactly what you've said here. Likely recommendations would be costume jewelry, a snow globe, or a figurine.
Partly because my mother cluttered my life with junk growing up, I appreciate any gift of quality. Keep that in mind with my recommendations. Don't get the cheapest ones you can find, get the best you can afford.
*costume jewelry
*business card case
*cloth grocery bag
*Fargo/trapper hats are apparently in this season, but I don't like them
*artisan ingredients (specialty tea, coffee, chocolate, salt, lentils, pasta, etc.)
*scarf, gloves
*specialty cookbook (the one I want right now is Roman Jewish food)

Holy hell. I have such an awesome bigoted/racist joke right here.

@ OP. I found this Disney mug on Amazon. I'm not a big Disney fan, and even I like it. They have other characters, too. I liked Tigger also.

So this and maybe a scarf. I've seen some nice ones at Target.
Permalink Reply by Margie on December 12, 2012 at 3:15pm Well, the fruitcake made me suspicious. By the time I got to the frying pan, I was highly suspicious. But everything after that confirmed it. lol
Permalink Reply by Shane on December 12, 2012 at 3:22pm After reading OPs second post, frying pan and gloves wouldn't be a bad idea.
