Recently, I was elected for the board of the Brotherhood Committee of my fraternity. I am very excited for next year, and I want to do something fun. Perhaps not right at the start of the year, but midway through the semester would be a good time to do a big event. We'll do a few events leading up to it before and after, just so it's not the only thing we do all year. Every week, I want everyone available to play Frisbee or football or something, just as a constant event.
For the several bigger events, I've thought of movie night and having a cook out. For our big event of the semester, we've been thinking about going camping together before it gets too cold.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
It all sounds great so far, and it's what I'd want to do.
But I'd rather camp.
"midway through the semester". Study lock ins. You go in put your devices in a locked box and you study. You either sleep, snack, or study. Phones locked away.
Full moon Frisbee. Always fun.
Go camping in the cold. It takes a little more gear but much more memorable.
plan your events as post test fun or pre-test prep.
I remember my days in the House and I will tell you that all the "nights" events couldn't compare to the rafting trip we took prior to the semester starting.
One year a guy planned a rafting trip 2 days prior to classes starting and it was the best 7 hours of my college time. The next year EVERY SINGLE GUY went on the trip. And every year after long after I moved away.
Get the guys out of town and do something active. It will beat out any party or "event" you could ever imagine
