There's something to be said about eating a tasty burger.  Let's face it, even Samuel L. Jackson knows when he tastes a good burger:

First things first, there's nothing better than getting some hamburger meat at the store, firing up the grill, and cooking up a storm. Those are some of the best burgers you can get. But if you have to go out and get a great burger, where would you go?

Second, I'm extremely bias in that I love In-N-Out Burger. I used to live on the west coast and ever since moving back to the Midwest, I miss the crap out of it. Every time I get a chance to travel back west, I always (and I mean always) will go to In-N-Out. One time I even paid an extra $45 on cab fare just so I could do to the drive-thru- and it was totally worth it!!! Yes, I LOVE IN-N-Out Burger.

Lately, I've been hearing a lot about Five Guys. They're originally out of Virginia and are blowing up everywhere. A franchise recently opened near St. Louis and I just tried it for the first time. Like I said, I'm partial to In-N-Out, but I was going in with a fresh mind with the possibility that they might not be the best burger. Big emphasis on "might". :)

Well, needless to say, I was greatly disappointed. Five Guys wouldn't even rank in my top 5. It wasn't horrible, but for a place that's establishment has signs everywhere that touts "Best Burger Ever", I expected more.

I know there are plenty of critics of In-N-Out, too. I get that. But what can I say....Double Double with Cheese has my heart and my stomach :)

How about what you? Any comments about In-N-Out vs. Five Guys? What's your vote for best burger?

Just had In and Out for the first time a few weeks ago, felt it was highly overrated.  Sure it was a good tasty burger, just not near worth the hype

Down here in Texas it is Whataburger, that is where it is at.  Five Guys is a tasty burger, but I will still take Whataburger over it.

I was just about to make a vote for Whataburger here up north in Oklahoma. I had a burger and fries from them an hour ago, and I can never get over how great their burgers taste.
I've been to a Whataburger, but it's been a while.  Might have to give it another go.
As for Louisiana, definitely WhataBurger.

White Castle.

Contest over.

White Castle?  C'mon man, for real?  When I think of White Castle I think of warming up a soggy burger in a microwave.   I eat White Castle about once every 2 years just to get my fix and that's all I need...... for another 2 years.
You know, I had White Castle for the first time in October, on a trip East. I still have heartburn. Not saying they don't have some real flavor, but damn that's a lot of grease.

The microwave disgusting crap is the reason most people don't enjoy White Castle. I'm from Saint Louis where they have the restaurants and ate it all the time, but never bought the frozen ones because I didn't need to. Now that I'm in Memphis, they don't have the restaurants and my school cafeteria sells those frozen disgraces. Everyone eats them and says they're good, no. That's a shame.

Sorry, that's something I'm a little too passionate about, hahah.

PS: Krystal is NOTTTTTT  even close to being the same as White Castle.

Smash burger is a lot better than Five Guys.  I will readily admit that In-and-Out makes a fantastic burger.

I agree, In-and-Out is overrated.  Had it for the first time (it's new here in Utah) about three months ago.

Carl's Jr. Guacamole burger gets my vote for best fast food burger.

In and Out and Five guys are about tied in my book.

Whataburger, really?  They must be different outside of FL.

Red Barn - Big Barney

best fast food burger ever created

Barnbuster was a close second
