I have long frequented my local barber shop, but when I went I asked for the typical clipper guard 2 haircut that I got at the local unisex shop.  After reading the AoM book (finally) I decided to ask for a real haircut.  Guys, don't be afraid to ask.  My barber was THRILLED that he was getting to be an actual, you know, barber.  I got a razor cut and it's by FAR the best haircut I've ever had!
