Given the nature of this site I wouldn't be shocked if Brett had already written an article on this but if he hasn't he should.

I'm graduating in May and I'm hunting for a Job.  I have a Bachelor's in International Studies and a minor in German.  I am a proficient writer/german speaker and consider myself extremely nimble when it comes to all things tech related.  Now all I need is a job.

Most people ask me: Well, what would you like to do?  The truth is that I don't know.  I know that travelling is not an issue and that I'm a quick learner who's ready to try new things.  What should I do?

My resume has been written and re-written, checked and quadruple checked now I just need to give it to someone.  My only requirement is that the job be one that shows promise for upwards mobility and (hopefully) allows me to employ my tech-related skills/knowledge.

I'm currently living and studying in Richmond but I'm ready to move if on opportunity pops up.  So far my "back up plan" is to try to keep my temp job for another year while I go to school for a computer science certificate.

(If you have suspicions that I'm not just asking for advice here, but also attempting to sell myself then you're right.  Sorry, just trying to get a job!)

I'd say if you have the means and determination for more education, it never hurts.
My eventual goal is to get a Master's in... something, but I could really use a job to build up the capital. I'm trying to borrow as little money as possible. (If at all)
I have a history degree (well, two of them now), and taught...history...so, mine was pretty related! :-)
Its interesting to see some people think how a college degree can get you anywhere, even though i have meet people how have high degrees like your selves and can't find a job even with that kind of degree. Nothing against on how hard you have worked for 4 to 6 years. But I have learned about its how you are, and how you can persuade some one giving you a job.
I'm sort of realizing this which is why I'm considering the CS certificate. Only 30 credits but apparently it's enough to start grad school.
All I can say is good luck and treat finding a job, like a job. Unfortunately I graduated last August and am still unemployed. It's tough out there but keep searching
Get a Masters in Finance.
Else work for the Government.

A Poem by some one that I knowTake nothing lightlyBy Bjorn FaknamTake nothing lightly. No vain promise give. Hold your honor tightly, In the one life we live.Do not throw trust away, Whether in you or from you. Live up to it today, In everything you do.Look with respect. Follow honor to the letter. Use the courtesy you expect. Nay, treat them better. No matter what gifts you were given, You are never above yourself. By whatever cause you are driven, Put yourself on the back shelf. Those around…See More

Liam replied to Liam's discussion Moving towards my first muscle up
"Thanks for the advice Sam. It is interesting that you didn't find the negatives very helpful. The elastic idea is really interesting. I have managed my first reps but what I found was I am taking one arm over the bar before the other, either my…"

"Yes I agree, unfortunately I don't have anything to record myself with. I managed my first poor quality reps the other day which I am thrilled about but my maximum reps of pull ups has fallen significantly in the process (from 12 - 15 down to…"

Liam S. replied to Chris Hamm's discussion Who Wears a Watch Anymore?
"Well "stylish" can mean many things. Personally, for around $100, I would look at the Seiko 5 series. These are very solid automatic movements (no batteries, but no winding either - if you wear them). They are built well, and there is a…"
