I'd hoped to bring some happy news with an updated view of "Tiny", the Lowland Gorilla from London Zoo that I'd posted here a year ago (the moment when he was taking his first steps, remember?). But, unfortunately, I only have sad news. I just found out that Tiny was killed by a silverback male only a month or so after my initial post.

Sad, but all too often an occurance. Bears will do the same thing, as will chimps -- well, lots of primates actually. If an alpha male in a group is displaced, the new alpha male will kill all of his infant offspring, which causes the female mothers to go into another menstrual cycle, which they will not do while nursing.

Nature can be so brutal. May Tiny rest in peace. Dallas, I could use some help. I've been wanting to post another baby gorilla video, but it didn't come with its own music, and I found the perfect theme song. I have the song on iTunes. I've seen you post a music file/attachment before (not a video). How'd you do it? I tried and failed. Or maybe you could recommend an easy instructional website?
