The first one kind of depressed me with the logging sounds.
Understood. Yeah, deforestation is a big problem. But still, it is kind of amazing that the bird can mimic those sounds, too.
That was great Dallas!
Interesting. I'm kind of suprised they didn't eat it. I've seen this kind of cooperative hunting in other animal species, besides pack animals like lions or wolves.
It is probably more common than believed. Nature is filled with amazing things that we will never discover. It absolutely blows my mind how the power of evolutionary forces can forge such beautiful creatures with such innovative creativity.
My sentiments exactly. I am entralled by nature -- its diversity, splendor, adaptability, beauty, and cruelty, too. We seem to be discovering more and more all the time, even about life existing in places we never thought possible. I watch documentaries all the time--on nature, cosmology, vulcanology, whatever. I love all that stuff.
Me too man. In fact their is a new "Life" episode on in a few minutes. Reminds me of the closing line of The Origin of Species by Darwin.

"There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone circling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being evolved."
That's a beautiful passage.

I actually saw my first clip from Life the other day. I don't have a digital TV or cable or satellite, so I miss a lot of that stuff. But I do watch DVDs I get from the library. That always makes me behind though, as current stuff takes a while to get in.
You always win, Cody!

Taking credit for community projects?

Brethren,Please give me your thoughts on this issue.I'm the outside events coordinator for my lodge. Yearly I chair charity fundraisers for local nonprofits.I'm also swimming in student loan debt and have recently learned of opportunities through Americorps that, if I were to claim and get signed time sheets for my hours on projects, would qualify me for student loan repayment (approximately $2400.00 for 700 service hours). We advertise our events on the news, radio and online, do mailings and…See More
