Since the Maya calendar cycle reset yesterday -- rather than ending -- what decisions, resolutions, or plans do you want to make, to improve your life or the lives of others, in this new time frame? A way to celebrate surviving the end of the world? :o
I'll start with the conventional one: the body. I'll be doing some physical exercise 5 days a week, and swearing off seconds, with exceptions for Dec 25, 26, and Jan 1, and doing this for at least 2 weeks. This is SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
I intend to make more as time goes by. If this thread takes off, we can make a group. We shall see.

Permalink Reply by JonEdanger on December 22, 2012 at 9:35am I've been frustrated and unhappy at work so a couple of weeks ago I started looking for a new job. I have an offer for a position in Louisville, KY and am expecting offers from positions here in Atlanta and in Jacksonville, FL.
My goal is to make a decision and make whatever move is necessary (if any) by the end of January.

Fixing my grades, and learning good in school.
I have been lazy. Its time i Man up.... I will fix all my bad grades, and do my best to have good ones.

Permalink Reply by Carl Monster on December 22, 2012 at 3:06pm I've already set one goal: I have to prepare and give a talk next summer to an audience. Scares the bejesus out of me but it is booked and I will not back out.
I will volunteer more, specifically with two local groups I've joined via Facebook. Good way to make things better while meeting others. The next opportunity that comes up that I can make I will do so.
Will set up an appointment and meet a financial planner in January. Our finances are OK but scattered. Want to pool everything together in a comprehensive plan geared to getting our kids through college, which will be happening in a few years.
Physically more conditioning-focused work this year than size gain. I've met last years weight goals with flying colors, but I am not sure I want to get bigger as I hate clothes shopping and I am starting to look a bit squeezed into my shirts. Will be switching to higher volume weight work with little or no rest time between sets to accomplish this.

Permalink Reply by Al Smithee on December 22, 2012 at 10:49pm Get back in shape and work on finding another job. To do the first, I'm changing what I eat and have committed to working out with my neighbor. To do the second, I'm applying to one job per week in my field and continuously polishing up my CV with new accomplishments; I hope that I'll have switched jobs within the year ahead.
