I have a cold, a bad one and being male it is far worse than any womancould have... ;-)

My resolve is this on an evening:

Warm red wine (ie Bordeaux is good)

Splash of apple juice

Sugar, tablespoon

Lemon juice

Splash of rum

All warmed (NOT boiled).  Lovely nightcap,  Better than anything the doctor could describe.

A nice old Hot Toddy always clears the throat and fuzzys the head quite well. Great for warming up after some brisk winter work.

Ingredients:

1 oz brandy, whiskey, or rum
1 Tbsp honey
1/4 lemon
1 cup hot water
1 tea bag

Preparation:

Coat the bottom of a mug or an Irish coffee glass with honey.
Add the liquor and the juice of the lemon quarter.
On the side, heat water in a tea kettle and add the tea bag to make hot tea.
Pour the steaming tea into the glass and stir.

That sounds very good . .

Was explaining to the lady . . a man with a cold is far worse than the infection that she gets and a simple paracetemol is not enough,,,,

The Hot Toddy. I just enjoyed this remedy for the first time a few days ago.I was having a meal at the pub i frequent and griping about a soar throat that was ailing me when a gentleman sitting at the bar next to me suggested this very drink. It provided a welcome, tasty, temporary relief. I recommend it.

Ward 8 Cocktail:

Whiskey to ease the cough, lemon and orange juices to help the immune system.  Broscience?  Possibly.  Delicious?  Absolutely.

1/5 Ginger Brandy
1 electric blanket
Take to bed
Sweat it out.

Hot sauce andVodka !!!  Sounds like a mix!

I load up on Vitamin C, liquid form and herbal tea. No alcohol, but lots of water.
