Harley does have that certain magical "something" which most manufacturers seek to emulate...the X-factor, to borrow a phrase from Mr. Cowell. And a darned great history. But, to summarily call the Japanese offerings shit is to do a disservice to some *very* good machines.
Permalink Reply by Mark-Anthony Rector on October 6, 2012 at 11:11am Hmm....well funny I have friends who all own Harleys, and they are always in the shop with something gone wrong. One guy I know finally sold his harley and went honda shadow,, he's never had a complaint sense, and this guy was a harley rider for several years
Permalink Reply by Rick Shelton on October 11, 2012 at 4:16pm I owned a Yamaha 650 a long time ago (galaxy far, far away).
I am looking at the Harley Softail Heritage Classic. I asked my wife for one for my birthday and she bought me a Citizen Eco Drive watch (so sad for me). She was an ER nurse and keeps telling me she will not ever buy a motorcycle for someone she loves, so if I ever find a motorcycle in the garage I'll know it's over.
Permalink Reply by Will Rawlings on November 9, 2012 at 5:39pm I started riding a 85' Honda Shadow v-twin. Went on to a 09' H-D Nightster, then to a 10' H-D Super Glide, and finally (for now) my 11' H-D Road King. They are all different with different qualities. The Nightster is just fun for spanking around town, the Dyna felt awesomely quick, and the RK is all comfort. And I dig the ABS brakes on it.
